Hah, nice! I did something similar ~20 years ago, but I managed to find a small PC with and on-board RCA connector and hooked it up to a small ~6" CRT TV (I think even black and white). I topped it off with a ring mouse for controlling my music while driving, but I would boot up and open the music player before I started moving.
