However I have observed that one reason some people hold this view is that they themselves experienced abuse they have not yet come to terms with.
They hold the view because they want to hold onto the idea that what happened to them was somehow ok. This is a way of holding off a complex trauma.
I am not for a second saying that this accounts for or defends pedophilia.
